Catch Up

So, here is what has been going on the last little while. We spent last weekend in Overton. It was so much fun but crazy busy. We got into town just in time to catch the end of Hayden's baseball game. He is a freshmen but got bumped up to the Varsity team for the last couple of games. Hayden is such an athlete and gets so into the games that I love going to watch him play. It is kinda funny though because usually we go to the game and them we have to go home and "watch and the game tape" so he can make his game better. He is a crack up. The next day, the festivities started at 6:30 in the darn a.m. It was my Grandpa and Grandma's 50th wedding anniversary (yeah for them!). It started out with family pictures. We have every one in the whole entire family there except for Jeff (who is in Australia on his mission) and the deceased (two of my uncles have already passed away). My family is getting pretty big. After having pictures at the Valley of Fire, we went to the Inside Scoop for lunch. We took up the whole second half of the restaurant. I think we gave the waitresses a heart attack when we all started to pile in. Hehehe. My grandparents reception went very well that afternoon. We had treats galore and saw lots of people. Everything had gone so smoothly until we tried to leave for the big dinner at Outback Steak House. We got into our car and.....it started over heating. Go figure something like that would happen to us. We finally fixed the problem and only made it to dinner a little late. By the time we got there, it was way past Rees' bedtime and he totally freaked out. I was so embarrassed by how upset he was getting (hadn't gotten like that since I was in Indiana) that as soon as our food got there, we packed it up and left. I have learned that Rees doesn't do well getting overstimulated all day long. Lesson learned. On the way home our car went to pot again. We barely made it home. We had to stop about every five minutes to fix things. After tearing the car apart the next day we decided we needed a new water pump and of course it is behind the engine. My parents wanted to tow us back to Orem but we comprised with them just following up back. That way if we did break down, they could go get a truck (we have family all the way between Overton and Orem and we are all truck-owning-hicks). Luckily we made it back alright. Yeah! Unfortunately, we don't have any pictures to post because (a) we totally forgot to even take our camera and (b) I store our pictures on our laptop and the cord just went to pot and I can't get to them. Sorry! The good news is that I have ordered the new cord and it should be here in about a week.

Wow, what a weekend! Sounds like a combination of lots of fun (seeing family is the best!) and lots of frustration (car trouble is the worst!)!
