Time Flies When You're Having Fun

So today was Rees's 2 month appointment. I can't believe it has already been two months. Everything went well for the little guy (Thank goodness!!) but everything still feels so surreal. What was even stranger was comparing him to Allie Hawkley yesterday. Allie still looks obviously older but Rees doesn't seem as tiny next to her as he did the last time we saw them. I can't believe it. I already feel like I haven't had enough time to enjoy my baby even though I am with him all day everyday.

On a fun note, I got a new cookbook yesterday. Mama Comeau gave me the Deceptively Delicious cook book by Jessica Seinfeld. I am way excited to try it out. All I need now is a blender or food processor. We all know I need to find some way to eat more veggies so I am thrilled about this gift. I get to eat the good stuff and veggies too!! Yeah!

Hands

I think Rees has found his hands!!! But I am actually not sure, but I think he has. He has started to suck on his fist and it looks so controlled and purposeful. Does this mean we can start playing with toys?! I hope so because I think Benjy is getting tired of playing with Rees's toys by himself :)

Smiles

Rees has started smiling. I have been trying for days to get a good picture of him smiling but this is the best I can get. He looks pretty goofy but I still love it.

Sleeping boys

Due to a series of unfortunate events, Benjy is framing again. Because of which, most of his time at home is spent sleeping. I have started to acquire quite a bit of pictures of my boys sleeping together. Aren't they cute?

We have been busy over the weekend. In the middle of the week last week, we found out that one of Benjy's mission companions, Rees Smith (yep, our little bundle of joy was kinda named after him) was going to be Las Vegas over the weekend for a conference. So we made quick decision (with my mom's pursuadeing :) to go down for the day the go an see him. Rees in currently living back east so this may be our last oppertunity to see him for a really long time. It was really fun to catch up and see him again. Unfortunately, I totally forgot to take a picture of Big Rees with Little Rees. Oops. I guess he will have to come visit us again soon. Just an FYI, my brother, Jeff, left the MTC for Australia today. One cool thing about his trip, he has a layover at LAX, which is in Benjy's mission. I thought it was kind of cool to think that Jeff gets to be in Benjy's mission while he is on his own mission. I know, I am nuts.

Family Update

Time flies when you are having fun! Sorry it taken so long for a new post.

Well, since the last post, TONS has happened. My family came to Provo for a few days to bring Jeff to the MTC. I still can't believe he is on his mission. We have talked about for ever but it is weird that the day actually came that we had to say goodbye. He handled everything like a pro. He will flying out to Australia on January 7th. Once my parents lefts, we headed down to Delta for Christmas. We were there with both of Benjy's sisters. We had alot a fun playing games and watching movies. This was Rees's first Christmas so it was pretty special. He slept through it beautifully. The important thing is that we got pictures to remind him later. We had Rees's blessing on December 30th. Both of Benjy's sisters and parents were there. We were so thrilled to have them there since Heather and her family are currently living in Indiana. My family, both sets of Grandparents, and two of my uncles and their families were also there. Benjy and I really value our families and it meant so much to have so much support of everyone there. We spent New Year's Eve in Taylorsville with Benjy's sisters again and the Rupp Family. We played games and ate pizza until the lack of sleep caught up with me and we had to go home. I made it to a whopping 10 o'clock before we had to leave. I think that means I am getting old. Great.

Rees is doing pretty well. I haven't had his weight checked in a bit but I think he might be looking bigger. I am going to take him to have him weighed just to make sure. He actually just grew out of his first outfit. Yeah! He had one great night of sleep but that is it. He was just working on his fake out apparently. He slept for seven hours straight one night but then went right back to waking up everything three hours since then. Bummer. He has started to randomly smile at everyone except me. I think he was purposely smiling at my mom one night while she was giving him a bath. It was pretty darn cute.

I hope everyone else is doing well. I love seeing everyone's blogs and getting the update emails. Keep me posted!
