Scarlett

For the past two weeks I have been reading Scarlett, the sequel to Gone with the Wind. I saw it at the bookstore and I thought it might be interesting. So far the book is thoroughly depressing. I was telling my sister this when she made a good point. That is exactly what the movie it. It is a depressing movie about a woman screwing herself over left and right.

My question is, why to I like the movie so much and feel the need to finish the book? Is it because I have a love for things that have history and have made it through several generations? Is it because I get an ego boost from knowing that Scarlett is a worse person than I am? Do I just like depressing things? Do I need therapy? Help, help. and help.

If you need therapy then just check me into the crazy house :).... If it makes you feel better I used to watch all the trashy talk shows (you slept with my man, my brother is my baby daddy, I'm a cross dresser kind of shows) it made me feel like my problems were nothing compared to those freaks! :)

I need to go to the book store.... we should go this weekend sometime! not that I dont already have a crazy list of books to read.

I'm with ya. For some reason, I just don't mind depressing books and movies. Hmmm.

It doesn't matter if I hate the book, I have to finish to 1. see hw it ends and 2. I'm still hoping it could get better! /maybe you're glued to it because untill you read the last page, there is still hope for a happy ending!!

It's been awhile since I read Scarlett, but I remember that I couldn't stop reading it, and I kind of liked it by the end. But not as much as Gone With The Wind. LOVE that book. When you're done, read "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society".
