The other day our buddies Joe and Alanna were over here hanging out with us. Since I am quite the Lady Chatterly, we discussed a wide varied of topics. One of these topics was Alanna’s wedding pictures. If you haven’t seen them, you should. They are FABULOUS! Anyways, Alanna was telling me how she couldn’t wait her do a “trash-the-dress” photo session. The first time she mentioned it I just thought I had misheard her and didn’t think much of it. Then later, she mentioned it again. Wait, trash-the-dress? Could that possibly be what it sounds like? What dress? What the heck is going on? Alanna very kindly enlightened me. HOLY SMOKES! It looks so fun! If I still fit into my wedding dress and if I didn’t think my mom would murder me in my sleep, I would totally do this! I have always felt bad that Benjy and I didn’t get any “artistic” pictures when we got married. These pictures are the epitome of being artistic. Aren’t they cool? Maybe I couldn't handle being lit on fire but the theory is still cool.

That's cool! I would totally do it if I had my wedding dress (I borrowed a dress, that's how sentimental I am :) Go for it! Make sure you get a guard-dog for your bedroom door, we really don't want your face on the 10 o'clock news :)
what a fun idea!!! I LOVE it!
HOLY CRAP you girls have got to be kidding me!!I'd like to write an epistle here but I can't begin to express how I feel about this latest trend without offending someone. Doesn't anyone treasure sentimental things anymore like the gown they were married in.......
Whoa holy moly. I can't believe people actually do this. I am opposed to it. I love my dress and would be sad to trash it. But, I do love the top photo. Even though her dress is on fire....that is an amazing photography shot. That photographer rules. Hope your good. Your little guy is getting so big.
I agree with Grammy D.so whole heartedly that I too would not be able to say all I feel without making someone mad. But it just seems so incredibly senseless to me to pay hundreds of dollars for a beautiful dress, wear it once and then trash it. Especially when people in other parts of the world go without the necessities of life, let alone a fancy wedding dress. It would make me much happier if you donated it to DI or something!!!!! Ashley, luckily you will not be taking part in this disturbing new trend, since you said you can't, because I would not want to have to keep your mother from killing you!!!!!
Whoa! Ashley, if we were rich, we could just go out and buy new wedding dresses and then have our 'trash the dress' party! Wouldn't that rock? :) Cause I'll admit that I couldn't do it to my own beautiful dress (not to mention that my dress equally belongs to my sister...). Or someday if we end up hating our husbands, then we could.... Okay, I'll stop! No need for talk like that. lol Cool pics though, thanks for sharing. And don't forget, someday when we're dirt rich.... it's a date! :)
That looks like some crazy fun! I would love to do that, but I don't know if I could actually go through with it!
