I think I missed my calling in life. I’m not 100% sure but I think it’s close. The annoying thing is that it doesn’t really matter at this particular moment but it is still driving me nuts. I feel like I have to decide right now. Here is the dilemma. (And please don’t laugh at me. At least don’t laugh too much) I want to be both a nurse and a cosmetologist. Here is why I think I missed my chance. I can still do one but I don’t feel like I can do both. I’m past the stage of life of complete freedom (you know, your time is only yours). I couldn’t dedicate my time and money to train for both and still feel like I am being a good wife and mother. I am to the point in life that when I go back to school it is going to be for a nurse (most likely). Cosmetology just doesn’t seem age appropriate anymore and yet it would be soooooo much fun. But being a nurse would be such a better job and lets be honest, it pays a WHOLE lot more. Not to mention medical careers are almost always in demand (of course I always thought that about construction too). I thought that maybe writing this all out would help me decide on what to do, but it really didn’t.

thx ash
LOL - you're too cute. I have to admit, I come up with a new 'what-I-want-to-do-when-I-grow-up' thing like every year. It's bad.... and it's even worse that I'm not doing anything to actually achieve one of them at the moment... but right now there's no point because I'm not a resident and I'm not about to pay out of state tuition. So I have a few more months to come up with my newest dream. :-)
Hey you can use your cosmetology talent on me any time you want. I am definitely lacking in any knowledge of that type of thing. Oh and please add me, meka_hilton@yahoo.com, I would be sad without your blog in my life!
we need your blog updates (mattandmandy03@gmail.com) since you left for Vegas and DIDN'T come say 'goodbye' like you promised! ;) I hope all is well, we SO miss you guys!
Dude, I have always wanted to go to cosmetology school, it looks so fun!

I need to keep in touch with you via your blog, so don't leave me out!
You know Diane Schwartz (credit union guy's wife)? She's like in her 40's and as always wanted to go to cosmetology school. She finally is doing it and loving it. Sure she's in the same class as my 19 year old cousin, but hey, she was tired of putting her dreams on hold simply because it wasn't the most logical thing. I think you can do both, maybe just not at the same time. If you can hack being a nurse (I couldn't, Gary has told me too many stories from the hospital) then it's always a good option because, like you said, it's always needed. Cosmetology would be super fun though. Do both just put some time in between the schooling. It's never too late.
oh & make sure you add me to your list brittmarshall@hotmail.com
Hey Ashley! It's so great to see you and your cute fam after all these years!! I love your blog and Rees is so cute! About the cosmetologist and nursing thing you are just like me! I've always wanted to be a nurse. I got my c.n.a. and have loved that! Nursing is such a good way to go because of all the reasons you said. On the other hand I absolutely love being a Cosmetologist!!!!! It is so much fun! My only complaint is it's unstable. I will build an awesome clientele and then move and have to start over. Your crazy busy one week and then the next you have unexpected cancellations. The money can be good over time and hard work but it takes a while and stability. And school is absolutely crazy expensive! Even more so now than when I went 5 years ago! I hoped that helped a little. Prob not. Do Cosmetology later on in life when you guys are rich and don't need the money and you have extra time. That's what I say.
Hey adorable little family!!! Oh my cute little boy!! He's a doll! We can save him for Jade, or yet, Gracie when the time comes (yeah, we like older men in this family). Yeah, I think nursing would be the most applicable to being a mom too and would come in SUPER handy! Plus, once you do the nurse thing for awhile, then you can always do cosmetology later like at night school or something... after you've paid off all the student loans and all that good stuff!! So that my humble opinion!! You're Awesome!! MISS YOU GUYS!!!!
embaird20@yahoo.com is my email.... yeah I totally want to be on your private list!! So, how do you tell what traffic i am getting on my blog? Maybe I'm just naive and living in my safe little bubble blog world!! FILL ME IN GIRL!!
Hey Ashley. You probley don't even remember me but I check your blog every now and then. Your little guy is so cute! Just thought i'd say hi. Good luck with what you decide to do. I'm a cosmetolgist But just do it from home. It makes it easy to stay home with babies. Who wouldn't love nurses pay though!
